Class Levels ...

​Creative Movement
This class introduces young children to a lifetime of learning and activity. Students learn proper stretching, gross motor skills, counting, listening and following directions. Using scarves, books, balls, hoops and more, students explore space, time and movement. Children gain self confidence in their new skills, exercise and learn new concepts all while having fun. Basic ballet positions and steps are demonstrated within this class.
Girls wear any style black leotard, pink tights and pink leather ballet shoes.
Boys wear black shorts or tights, white t-shirt and socks, white leather ballet shoes.
Pre-ballet
The young dancer (aged 6-9 years) begins classical ballet steps in this class including floor stretches, barre exercises and vocabulary. The class includes movement across the floor to keep interest and energy level up.
Girls wear any style black leotard, pink tights and pink leather ballet shoes. Boys wear black shorts or tights, white t-shirt and socks, white leather ballet shoes.

​​Ballet
Classical ballet technique is taught in these classes which emphasize proper use of muscles and body alignment. Each class incorporates barre and center exercises to classical music. Difficulty and speed of steps increase as students progress through the ballet levels.
Girls wear any style black leotard, pink tights and pink leather ballet shoes. Boys wear black shorts or tights, white t-shirt and socks, white leather ballet shoes.
Tap
Tap dancing is taught to improve coordination, balance and rhythm. Students learn control and musicality as they master many fun and challenging steps.
Black tap shoes are required.
Jazz/Hip Hop
Ages 7-14 years. This fast-paced class begins with warm ups, stretching and isolations. Students learn proper dance technique as they progress across the floor to contemporary music. A variety of jumps, turns and hip hop steps are learned at a pace dictated by the student’s progress.
Students should wear comfortable, layered clothing with black jazz shoes. No jeans please.

Pointe
Pointe and Pre-Pointe is a class held for intermediate and advanced ballet dancers. Classes emphasize steps that strengthen the lower leg and feet, as well as body alignment. This class prepares dancers for pointe work (on the tips of the toes).

Intermediate Ballet
​
Intermediate Ballet requires the student to have had extensive dance training. Students must have knowledge of ballet technique and be able to perform grand allegro and pirouettes.
